Procedure
A relatively affordable treatment, tooth contouring is a one-hour-long procedure that can make teeth appear subtly square or rounder to achieve a more balanced and even smile.
Whilst tooth reshaping is a safe and minor procedure when performed by an experienced dentist, it does require enamel removal, which is non-reversible.
In the case of larger alterations to your smile, it’s best not to contour the teeth as they can become weaker, so alternative procedures are recommended in the case of bigger changes.
Don’t want to file teeth down?
Tooth contouring is not the only way we can reshape your teeth. For example, if you want to avoid invasive dentistry completely, you can opt for composite bonding, which uses resin applied to the tooth in layers to change its shape and size.
However, we would have to make the other teeth relatively the same size as long teeth. Composite veneers might also be your first choice if you want to make your smile without causing any harm.
