Ceramic Braces London

Ceramic braces, or clear braces as they’re widely known, are a discreet way to straighten crooked or misaligned teeth in less than 12 months.

Ceramic braces, or “white braces” as they’re also known, work the same as metal braces, but are more discreet due to tooth-coloured brackets.

As ceramic braces are less visible, they are often the go-to choice for patients who might feel self-conscious with regular or traditional braces, but don’t want to opt for Invisalign clear aligners.

Book a free consultation with one of our treatment coordinators, who can take a look at your smile, hear about your preferences, lifestyle and budget and make suitable options based on how fast you want a straighter smile.

Why ceramic braces? The subtle choice

  • Suitable for children, teens and adults
  • Made up of ceramic brackets attached to teeth with wire
  • ‘Elastic recoil’ gently moves teeth into correct alignment
  • The wire is gradually tightened over several appointments
  • Predictable results that can treat a wide range of cases
  • Offered in a clear material or tooth-coloured
  • Low treatment times between 6 and 12 months
  • Clear elastic bands can be used as an additional force
  • The white or clear ligatures are susceptible to staining however they are replaced monthly so not a huge concern
  • With some smile problems, treatment can take longer than using the strength of metal braces
  • Easier to break and weaker than metal braces

  • Overbite and underbite
  • Crossbite and open Bite
  • Crooked and twisted teeth (rotated teeth)
  • Overcrowding or too many teeth

What it's like straightening teeth with ceramic braces

The first part of the process is an orthodontic assessment carried out by Dr Bonatti, who will review your medical history, identify your expectations and fully assess your facial proportions, bite, speech and chewing function.

From here, we can draw up a plan for your ceramic brace treatment and back this up with full mouth x-rays, models of your teeth, facial photographs of your face, bite, profile and smile.

Next, we’ll create a healthy foundation, with a general exam to ensure there are no signs present of decay, cavities or gum disease – consider it as a pre-screening for treatment.

What to expect:

  • Fitting the braces
  • Monthly adjustments
  • Regular hygiene sessions
  • A retention phase after removal
  • Enhancement of the results
