Create a more even smile

Patients who hate their stained, crooked, gapped or damaged teeth will be pleased to discover composite veneers, which can be placed faster than their traditional counterparts.

Composite veneers look just like your teeth but better. Patients worried about thickness should not be concerned, as the resin is built in thin layers to achieve the desired final look. Plus, composite veneers can feel like natural teeth with the right dentist.

Composite veneers can cost up to 62% less than porcelain veneers. We charge £350 per tooth. More.

Composite veneers can be applied to the teeth in one single appointment. More.

No-prep

Unlike porcelain veneers, composite requires no change to the existing tooth. More.

Your guide to composite veneers

What do composite veneers treat?

Just like porcelain veneers, composite veneers treat a wide variety of smile problems and issues that include:

  • Small, worn or eroded teeth
  • Chipped, cracked and broken teeth
  • Uneven smiles, gaps and crooked teeth
  • Reshaping the smile
  • Fixing any misalignments
  • Masks yellow teeth or discolouration in the least invasive way
  • Allows for the partial coverage of a tooth
Advantages of composite veneers
  • Do not need to cover the entire tooth.
  • Composite veneers require no changes to the underlying tooth structure.
  • They are no-prep veneers, which means patients do not have to undergo etching as seen with porcelain veneers.
  • The composite veneer procedure only takes one appointment to apply.
  • Composite veneers are easier to repair if they chip or crack.
  • Composite veneers cost 60% cheaper than porcelain veneers.
  • Masks common smile imperfections with ease.
Limitations of composite veneers
  • As composite veneers are not permanent, some patients feel disappointed that the results are not life-long. Therefore, composite veneers will need replacing every 3-5 years.
  • The composite resin material is more susceptible to staining than porcelain.
  • Composite veneers are more susceptible to chips and breaks.
  • Composite veneers cannot be whitened.
Composite veneer procedure

Following a consultation to assess your suitability, our dentists can begin to work on a trial smile (a mock-up), which will design your teeth on a cast model first based on the shape and design you like best.

After any modifications or amendments to the trial smile, we will add the composite veneers directly to your teeth, where we will shape, contour and polish them. Any teeth whitening treatment will need to be completed beforehand.

The minimally invasive technique applied with composite veneers is impossible in other veneers, like porcelain. With composite veneers, we don’t need to cover the entirety of the tooth fully, but rather only a portion where the imperfection is located. If, for example, you’re targeting discolouration, we might need to only apply the composite resin to the upper half of the teeth next to the gum. Learn more.

How long do composite veneers last

Lasting on average for five years, composite veneers do not change or affect the underlying structure of your tooth, making them a great temporary cosmetic enhancement for patients wanting to commit to life-long porcelain veneers.

As composite veneers are minimally invasive and make no permanent changes to teeth, they are considered a healthier option for the future of your oral health. Plus, they’re great for protecting the surface of the tooth.

Composite vs porcelain

As the composite resin material is built onto the tooth in thin layers, there’s no need to make room for them, like there is with porcelain veneers.

The beauty of composite veneers is that they are thin enough to fit seamlessly over teeth without having to remove any of the underlying tooth. Read post.

Are composite veneers safe?

Composite veneers are completely safe – the resin material they are made from is inert, which will not cause you any harm. And as the application process is less invasive they are considered better for the teeth.
