4 years a customer and always professional yet friendly service. Corrected my major issues (fillings/caps) and while they’re keen to ensure ongoing ‘perfect teeth’ they don’t hard sell peripheral / optional treatments. Highly recommended

I was looking for somewhere with a personal touch, that I could trust and that’s what I got at Mint. They always remember my name and are so polite. After a year of zoom meetings I really wanted my teeth to be straight and the results completely surpassed my expectations. I now feel comfortable taking photos! The team explained everything clearly (I felt I could ask anything multiple times) appointments were always organised and it was a really easy, worthwhile process. My teeth look like my teeth but are now at their best.

They were kind and reassuring all the way through my Invisalign treatment – as well as having amazing technology at their disposal. Dr Imran is so accommodating and kept everything simple, addressing any concerns straight away. All in all I would definitely recommend Mint Dental Clinic, a lovely experience all round.

Fixing broken crowns

There are three approaches we can take to fix broken crowns.

  • Repairing the broken or chipped crown.
  • Replacing the crown with a new, stronger version.
  • Reattaching a crown that’s come loose or fallen off.

In certain situations, depending on the size of the fracture, we can repair the crown with composite bonding, which is relatively cheap. In scenarios where the crown has come loose, we can simply re-cement it. However, if the crown is damaged beyond repair, you’ll require a new one.

Broken crown advice

Don’t try to manage your broken crown at home. Restore it safely with us.

  • Your crown is aged and needs replacing.
  • The cement has washed out.
  • Exposed to dental decay.
  • Too much biting force caused by tooth grinding.
  • Biting down on hard foods.

Crowns are used to protect the underlying tooth structure from decay and infection. It also saves patients from losing their teeth and is used to restore the smile.

Restoring your broken crown is recommended to keep the underlying tooth protected from intruding bacteria, infection, further deterioration and decay. It will be essential for restoring strength and a natural-looking smile.

Chipped and broken crowns can sometimes be repaired if the chip isn’t large. Here, we’ll use a resin, which is a composite material that’s the same colour as the tooth.

In other cases, if the crown has become frayed or jagged, we can reshape and smooth it.

A broken crown can be glued or re-cemented back on. In this case, keep the fallen off crown safe and we’ll give it a clean and re-position it safely. It’s recommended that you do not try to glue the crown back on yourself.

If you require a new crown, you’ll need to wait a few days whilst your new one has been made after we take impressions. Placing the crown itself can take between 30 minutes to two hours, depending if any preparation is required beforehand.

Dental crown repairs on the other hand, are even faster, taking less than an hour to fix with dental bonding.

  • Dental crown repairs from £90
  • Dental crown replacements from £750
  • New dental crowns on 0% finance over 12 months for £62.50 per month
