When our Invis dentists recommend Invisalign Moderate

Invisalign Moderate is for when your bite issue is more extensive than the Lite version, but not severe enough for the Comprehensive system.

Invisalign Moderate is designed for patients whose malocclusions fall in the middle and who have moderate orthodontic issues, such as crowding, gaps, and overbites. It involves a 20-stage aligner treatment that can straighten teeth in as little as 6-8 months.

Invisalign Moderate treatment overview

  • Straighter smile in typically 6-8 months
  • 20 clear aligners over 20 weeks
  • Faster and fewer in-clinic visits, reviews and adjustments
  • See our Invisalign dentists every 4-8 weeks
  • Wear aligners up to 22 hours per day for best results
  • Removable to eat, drink and perform other activities
  • 2 additional refinements included for further tweaks
  • Teeth whitening or composite bonding to complete treatment

What does Invisalign Moderate treat?

Invisalign Moderate is effective for mild to moderate bite issues. If you have an overbite or underbite that’s classed as severe, Invisalign Comprehensive will be more recommended for your case.

Crowding

  • Moderate overlap or twisting of teeth
  • Not enough space in the arch, causing teeth to sit out of position

Spacing Issues

  • Noticeable gaps between teeth
  • Teeth that have shifted due to missing teeth or previous orthodontic relapse

Overbite

  • Upper teeth overlap the lower teeth
  • Can help reduce excess vertical overlap and improve bite balance

Underbite

  • Lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth
  • Suitable when skeletal correction is not required

Crossbite

  • One or more upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth
  • Invis improves alignment and jaw function

Open Bite

  • Front or back teeth don't meet when biting
  • Can help close the bite where severity allows

Midline Shifts

  • Upper and lower dental midlines don’t align
  • Invisalign can gradually move teeth to correct symmetry

Rotated or Tilted Teeth

  • Teeth angled or twisted out of position
  • Invisalign attachments help apply precise, controlled movements

At our London clinic in Elephant & Castle, our Platinum Invisalign dentists offer Invisalign Moderate for both upper and lower arches from £3,999.

One arch costs from £1,999. Dental finance is available for patients looking to spread the cost of their Invisalign Moderate treatment, with monthly repayments as low as £92.98 per month, for both arches over 60 months (14.9% APR).

How does Invisalign Moderate work?

Your Invisalign journey at Mint Dental begins with a FREE consultation and a 3D scan of your smile using the iTero scanner, which will take thousands of images of your teeth to simulate how your new smile will look during each stage, so you’ll get to see how straight the results will look before you even commit.

The consultation will outline the right Invisalign treatment plan, how many aligners you’ll need, and how long your treatment will take from start to finish.

From here, we’ll be able to break down your accurate costs, explore financing options, show you what your new smile will look like, and, if you’re ready to proceed, send your data to the lab to custom-make your aligners. A few weeks later, you’ll be invited back in to have them fitted and receive a few instructions to get started.

From here, you’ll take your aligners home and swap them out every 1-2 weeks, so you can gradually move the teeth into their new positions. By changing them at home, you’ll require fewer orthodontic visits and see us far less frequently than you would need to for traditional orthodontics and fixed braces.
