How Enlighten Evolution Whitens

Once your Enlighten Evolution whitening trays are ready, your dentist will provide complete and detailed instructions on using the product at home.

Maintenance is low with Enlighten Evolution. Usually, patients require one night of whitening at home every two months.

Enlighten Evolution instructions
  • You will place the gel into your whitening tray and wear them overnight for 14 nights. The patient wears a whitening tray over the upper and lower teeth either during the day or overnight for the prescribed period.
  • Once you’ve completed your course of at-home whitening treatment, you will return to the practice for a follow-up appointment with your dentist.
  • The cosmetic dentist will then apply an extra-strength booster bleaching treatment to enhance your results further.

The Cost Of Tooth Whitening

Say Goodbye To Yellow Teeth & Stains

Enlighten Evolution whitening trays feature small, refillable gel reservoirs that fit over each tooth. Enlighten Evolution is a low-risk, effective teeth whitening method when applied correctly.

Enlighten Evolution prides itself on its products’ lower concentration of chemical agents and promises its unique gel formula will not harm your gums.

The percentages of the chemical agents used in the whitening gels are low, and the custom-moulded trays — which closely follow the contours of your teeth and gums — provide high levels of comfort and prevent the gel from leaking.

Enlighten Evolution FAQs

How to prepare your teeth

An integral part of the Evolution™ treatment plan is Enlighten’s speciality Tooth Serum which, if used regularly, can do wonders for prolonging results.

But it’s also used before treatment to prepare your teeth for the whitening agent.

The special toothpaste helps clean the surface of your teeth thoroughly, repairs damage to your tooth enamel, minimises white spots and reduces sensitivity during the two weeks before your treatment.

What is Enlighten whitening like for sensitive teeth?
  • The whitening agent used in the Enlighten Evolution method is a gentler carbamide peroxide formula, causing no pain or tooth sensitivity, which is common with professional whitening treatments.
  • While it does not affect the tooth enamel other than breaking down intrinsic surface discolouration, it could cause discomfort if it comes into contact with your gums.
  • The Enlighten method aims to reduce the risk of this happening in two ways:
  1. Firstly, the whitening trays are custom-moulded to follow the contours of your gums and teeth, so the whitening gel stays where it should — on your teeth. When applied correctly, the tray helps to prevent any gel from leaking onto the gums.
  2. Secondly, the pH-neutral also contains a carefully balanced amount of potassium nitrate, which helps to reduce gum sensitivity.
How to maintain whiteness

You can maintain the whiteness of your teeth by limiting your intake of these foods and beverages, including red wine, coffee, and tea.

  • Smoking or consuming certain foods and drinks will exacerbate staining.
  • Carefully store your pack so you can re-use it regularly, depending on how quickly staining reappears.
  • Also, speak to your dentist and ask them to recommend an effective whitening toothpaste you can use to maintain the results of your treatment for as long as possible.
